City Aims to Bring Restaurants to Charlestowne Mall Property
City alderman gave preliminary approval to a plan for five outlots for five new dining options at the struggling mall.

City officials in St. Charles continue to work to save the struggling Charlestowne Mall.
The latest development came this past Monday as city alderman gave preliminary approval to the owner of the mall, Krausz Companies Inc., to create five outlots on the property, which will be located along Main Street, the Daily Herald reports.
The outlots are meant to draw five new dining options. The hope is that the restaurants would help draw more people to the mall’s most popular attraction, the Classic Cinemas Charlestowne 18 Theater, for dinner and a movie, according to the Daily Herald.
