City Announces Holiday Homecoming Road Closures
The holiday homecoming parade is on Saturday.
St. Charles PD: The 2019 St. Charles Holiday Homecoming Parade is being held on Saturday, November 30, 2019. The parade is scheduled to step off at 5:30 PM. The parade will be held on Main Street (Route 64). It begins at 6th Street and travels east, ending at 4th Avenue. Main Street will be closed between 7th Street and 5th Avenue (Illinois Rt. 25). Traffic on both, Main Street (Route 64) and 2nd Street (Route 31) will be detoured beginning at 5:15 PM.
A parking ban will be in effect on the detour route (Illinois Street, 7th Street, and State Street) as well as the parade route (Main Street) from 2:00 PM until approximately 7:00 PM.

- Walnut Street between 3rd and 7th Streets
- 4th Street between Illinois Street and Main Street.
- 5th Street from Illinois Street to Main Street.
- 6th Street from Illinois Street to Cedar Street.
- Walnut Avenue from 5th Avenue to South 2nd Avenue
The police department is urging the public to exercise caution when driving or attending the parade, as the parade will be held after dark. Motorists are strongly encouraged to use alternate routes, as traffic delays could be lengthy. There will be additional Police and Emergency Management personnel assigned to the parade to help ensure public safety and assist with traffic flow.
