Contest Participants Now Sought For St. Charles Scarecrow Fest
You can register now for the scarecrow contest. The festival will be held Oct. 7 to 9.

ST. CHARLES, IL - St. Charles beloved Scarecrow Fest will return next month.
The Greater St. Charles Convention and Visitors Bureau will host the 31st Annual Scarecrow Fest from Oct. 7 to 9 in both Lincoln Park and in the James Martin parking lot, which is located at Cedar and Third streets in St. Charles. The festival includes the display of dozens of community-created scarecrows for public viewing.
“These entries are truly the heart of the fest,” said Vikki J. Myers, marketing specialist for the Greater St. Charles Convention and Visitors Bureau, in a news release.

Visitors can view and vote for their favorite in five different categories. Those categories include the MEGA Scarecrow category, clubs/not-for-profit/individual category, mechanical category, family category and Greater St. Charles business categogry, according to the press release.
The final deadlines to register for entry into the contest is Sept.30. Those who submit an entry by Sept. 15 will receive a pair of Scarecrow Fest finger puppets at check-in on Oct. 6.
To enter the Scarecrow Contest, participants should visit the Scarecrow Fest website where they can complete the entry form. The form includes more information about the five contest categories, a detailed look at the official contest rules and regulations, important set up information, and new information about tear down procedures.
