Crystal Lake Runners Finish the Boston Marathon

Several area runners have accomplished the daunting task of finishing the Boston Marathon. On Monday, April 17, more than 30,000 runners took off from Hopkinton and traveled 26.2 miles to Boston.

Kenyan runner Geoffrey Kirui won the marathon with a time of 2:09:37 while Edna Kiplagat, also from Kenya, won the women's race with a time of 2:21.52.

Roger Reiling was the fastest runner to cross the finish line from Crystal Lake with a time of 3:50, according to unofficial results. The Boston Marathon results website did not note anyone from Cary who finished the race.
