Deputies Pull Drunken Driver From Burning Truck: Kane County Sheriff
A 41-year-old South Elgin man was seriously injured in the collision, fire near St. Charles Tuesday night.

ST. CHARLES, IL — Two Kane County Sheriff's Office deputies rescued a 41-year-old South Elgin man who became trapped inside his burning car following a rollover crash.
The deputies, Steven Turcois and Ryan Reichardt, arrived at the scene of the rollover collision in the 6N900 block of Dunham Road in unincorporated St. Charles Township at about 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday, according to a sheriff's office news release. They found a Chevrolet pick-up truck on fire.
The deputies were able to quickly pull the driver, Thomas Dabek, out of the truck. Dabek was first taken to Delnor Hospital with serious injuries and then transported to Loyola Medical Center for further treatment, according to a news release.

Dabek has been charged with two counts of driving under the influence. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
