An Independent doctor can save you a lot in Co-Pays compared to a Hospital doctor.Read NY Times article. So Change your doctor -Save NOW .

NY Times carried a very important article on Feb.6,2015:

When Hospital buy Doctor’s offices and Patients Fees Soar.

The true example cited-- Sonogram is a doctor’s office before and after being bought out. The charge went up from 189$ to 453$.

Co-pay went up from 38$ to 90$.

Now a patient never thinks about it--saying HEY I am going to the same doctor that I had for years.

They don’t realize that this doctor works for a hospital--so now hospital will send the bill which is 2-3 times more.

Patient will receive the bill in 1-3 months--and may say--I don’t understand it-but the bill must be right.

The truth is : that your doctor is no longer INDEPENDENT.

WHAT SHOULD YOU DO TO SAVE IMMEDIATELY?: Change your doctor and find an independent doctor quickly.

If you don’t-you will end up paying a lot more for Co-Pays in 2015 and then in 2016,your insurance co. may raise your premiums.

But-remember-if you have high deductible Policy-- you will end up paying the whole 453$.

You may say-well I have Medicare--so although I have to pay more Co-PAY--my premiums will be based on national averages. WRONG-- Medicare does not have tons of money sitting around. If this continues-they will change the rules for MEDICARE--as they are close to running out of money.

New Jersey Governor running for 2016 Presidential campaign has already offered his proposal--Medicare only for lower income people only.

Remember-even if on MEDICARE--you will be paying very HIGH CO-PAYS.

So why not find an independent doctor or independent specialist or independent facility whose charges are lower.

FYI--American Colonoscopy & Endoscopy Center in Geneva,IL. charges 3000-3800$ less for Colonoscopy.

One person wrote a review after getting Colonoscopy: I did not know the facility cost will be so high.I like the Gastroenterologist, but he did not tell me the facility cost. Now I am stuck.

So please SHOP Around for Prices of facilities as their prices can vary by thousands. Many doctors won’t tell you or skirt around--as they own(partner) the expensive facilities.

THIS SUGGESTION is more true for people under 65--as these policies have high deductibles compared to Medicare policy deductibles.

YOU SHOP for Cars,Appliances or travel-WHY NOT FOR MEDICAL CARE--where your premiums are over 10,000$ and Deductibles are 500-2000$ for people under 65.

I myself was shocked to read the NY TIMES article.
