District 303 Pilot Program to Offer Night School Classes

The pilot program will start this fall.

ST. CHARLES, IL - St. Charles District 303 is introducing a pilot program that will offer night school classes starting this fall in an effort to provide another option to students who face the possibility of not graduating from high school in four years, the Daily Herald reports.

The classes, which will be offered from 4 to 7 p.m. a couple times a week, are meant for students who have a hard time making classes during the day for a variety of reasons, according to the article. The pilot program will start with providing both semesters of English for every grade level and both semesters of Algebra I and II and Geometry.

Currently, there are about 40 to 45 students who face issues that make it hard for them to graduate in four years, according to the Daily Herald.

"We know students who do not meet graduation requirements and need to go into a fifth year, the rate of them coming back is much lower than if they had the opportunity to graduate with their class on time," Aubree Schuett, the assistant director of interventions, told the Daily Herald.
