District 303’s Class of 2016 Posts the Highest Average ACT Score in District’s History

The class of 2016 earned an average composite ACT score of 23.8.

ST. CHARLES, IL - Students who graduated from Community Unit School District 303 in 2016 earned an ACT Composite score of 23.8, which is the highest-ever ACT composite score for District 303 students, school officials said.

The classes of 2010 and 2014 had earned the previous highest composite score of 23.6. A 36 is considered a perfect score on the ACT.

The 2016 graduating class also had the largest number of District 303 students to take the ACT with 1,182 students completing the test, according to a District 303 press release.

Overall, District 303 students taking the ACT scored well above the state and national averages of 20.8 in 2016. But Geneva District 304 scored the best among tri-cities’ school district with a composite average of 24.2. Batavia Public School District 101’s class of 2016 was slightly below District 303 with students earning a composite average of 23.6 on the ACT.

Starting this spring, Illinois will offer the SAT instead of the ACT to Illinois students though students who want to take the ACT can still do so at a national testing site, according to the Chicago Tribune.

More District 303 ACT Stats

The class of 2016 posted the highest District 303 scores ever in English (23.6) and in Reading (23.8) and also tied the highest mark in Science (23.4). District 303 scores for the 2016 Senior class are well above the Illinois and national averages of 20.8, according to a District 303 press release.

The St. Charles North High School class of 2016 earned their school’s highest composite score ever at 24.1, which surpassed the 23.8 mark of the class of 2011 and the class of 2014. The North H.S. Class of 2016 also set new high marks for their school in English (23.9), Reading (24.1) and Science (23.7).

St. Charles East High School’s composite score 23.5 matched the highest composite score ever posted at the school, according to news release. The class of 2010 and the class of 2014 also earned a 23.5 score. The East High School class of 2016 also posted the highest mark ever for the school in Reading (23.6) and tied the high mark in English (23.3).
