Downtown St. Charles Partnership Names St. Patrick’s Parade Chairman

Craig Larsen takes on the honors as the downtown organization gears up for its first year overseeing the parade.

Craig Larsen, founder and president of AHC Advisors Inc., 303 N. 2nd St., Suite 24, has been named chairman of the city’s annual St. Patrick’s Parade, the Downtown St. Charles Partnership announced Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2013.

The Downtown St. Charles Partnership has taken on the parade, which will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 16, on Main Street, from 6th Street to 4th Avenue.

A St. Charles resident, Larsen has served as a Downtown St. Charles Partnership volunteer for several years, including as chairman of the 2012 Holiday Homecoming and Electric Christmas Parade, according to the organization’s release.

In addition to Larsen, the organization lists other volunteers as committee members, including: John Hughes of N Henry and Son; Steve Martin of First State Bank; resident Darlene Riebe; resident Betsy Penny; resident Suzanne Simons; Pam Biermann, ; Jan Wilson, Hair Capers; Marty Strauss, ; and Shay Clarke, .

According to the release, Larsen is a Professional and Chartered Financial Consultant CFP®, and founded his business in 1995 as a fee-only investment adviser. AHC serves clients in the suburbs of Chicago, and locally in St. Charles, Geneva, and Batavia. Professionally, Larsen serves as treasurer of the Financial Planning Association of Illinois.

Organizations and business that wish to participate must complete an entry form, obtain a certificate of insurance, sign off on the rules and regulations, and return the documents along with the appropriate entrance fee, if required, to the Downtown St. Charles Partnership office no later than Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013, the release states. The entry fee is $250 for businesses, $125 for Downtown St. Charles Partnership members, and free for nonprofit entries. McNally’s Irish Pub and the city of St. Charles are co-sponsors of the St. Patrick’s Parade, whose past entries have included bands, Irish dancers, authentic Irish music, floats, school groups, pre-schools, service clubs, and more.
