Driver, 22, Killed In Rollover Crash Near Campton Township

KANE COUNTY, IL — A 22-year-old Hoffman Estates man is dead following a single-vehicle crash near Campton Township over the weekend.

The collision happened on Beith Road just east of Route 47 in unincorporated Campton Township at about 9:38 p.m. Friday, according to a news release from the Kane County Sheriff's Office. Police say a 2006 Ford Escape headed west on Beith Road lost control and rolled over several times.

A witness found the driver, who was later identified as Andrew J. Roycroft, 22, of Hoffman Estates, outside the vehicle and called 911. Roycroft was taken to Delnor Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Beith Road was closed until 1:30 a.m. Saturday as authorities investigated the collision.

Sheriff's office detectives and the Kane County Drone Team is working to investigate this collision. Police say its unclear at this point if drugs or alcohol played a factor in the crash.
