Early Morning Blaze Damages St. Charles Manufacturing Plant

The fire broke out at about 3:15 a.m. at the facility on Kirk Road. No one was injured in the blaze, according to fire officials.

ST. CHARLES, IL —No one was injured in a blaze that broke out at a manufacturing plant early Thursday in St. Charles.

The St. Charles Fire Department responded to Pactiv at 315 S. Kirk Road at about 3:15 a.m. and found moderate smoke inside the manufacturing area and a visible fire in a ceiling-mounted machine, according to a news release from the fire department.

Firefighters brought the blaze under control within six minutes. No one was injured, and the fire caused about $10,000 in damage to machinery.

The structure was not damaged and the business will continue to be able to operate, according to the news release.

The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
