East Science Students Earn 13 Medals at State Olympiad

The St. Charles East High School Science Olympiad team took medals in six of 23 events to place 10^th among 47 top schools at the Illinois Science Olympiad at the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign, St. Charles Community Unit School District 303 announced on its website.

The district offered special congratulations to winning medalists in their events, including:

• Technical Problem Solving: Third place — Austin Born, Steve Wang;
• Geologic Mapping: Third place — Haley Knudsen, James McAdams;
• Experimental Design: Fourth place — Sara Ahmad, Anna Chee, Joseph Monroe;
• Bottle Rocket: Fourth place — Kevin Zhang, Carson Zhang;
• Designer Genes: Fourth place — Anna Chee, Iva Gramatikov;
• Water Quality: Fifth place — Ryan Wealther, Megan Gramatikov.
