Election Security Discussed By Kane County Clerk Candidates
The primary election will be held on March 17.
KANE COUNTY, IL —Candidates vying for the Democratic nomination for Kane County clerk — Brian Pollock of Aurora and Brenda Rodgers of Elgin — say local elections are secure and defended by current procedures.
Pollock highlighted layered safeguards like bipartisan election judges, cameras, and poll watchers, while Rodgers expressed confidence in election security but criticized past vote-tabulation glitches, according to the Daily Herald. The candidates also recently touched on the broader duties of the clerk’s office, from vital records to passports, and both contenders want to boost public communication and civic engagement.
Pollock, an attorney, has worked for the clerk’s office for nine years, and also served one term on the Kane County Board while Rodgers served one term on the Elgin City Council.
