Electronics Recycling Event This Weekend In St. Charles
Kane County residents can drop off their old TVs and other electronics at the Aug. 10 event.
Kane County: A Kane County Recycles Event will be held this Saturday 8/10/19, between 8am and 12noon, at 540 S. Randall in St. Charles. We will be accepting electronics and books for recycling and documents for shredding.
ELECTRONICS like televisions (any size, type or age), computers, keyboards, laptops, printers, cables, stereos, cell phones, and microwaves can be recycled here. Christmas lights can also be recycled here. A complete list of accepted items, and more information can be found at

BOOKS of any age and condition for reuse or recycling. Also you can bring shredded paper (documents you have already shredded at home) to the book recycling area for recycling.
DOCUMENTS of a confidential nature may be shredded for free onsite. Limit is approximately 4 boxes, because this free service is for residents only. No documents from businesses please. No junk please (plastic, binder folders, junk mail that is not confidential). Staples, paper clips, and envelope windows are ok to leave in. Costs
· TVs and Computer Monitors have a recycling fee paid directly to the non-profit recycler ($25 for screens under 21" - measured diagonally across the screen, or $35 for screens 21" and over), payable by the resident with cash or card.
· All else is free to drop-off.
Next event: The next event after this one will be on September 14th, 2019, same place, same hours, and will include electronics, books, document shredding, and paint recycling (paint has a cost).
Not accepted: We do not accept hazardous waste or large household appliances like washers and refrigerators.
Weekday electronics drop-offs: Kane County also has 2 Electronics Recycling Drop-off locations that are open Monday through Friday every week.
