Elevated CO Levels Closes Down Food Truck Fest
One person was taken to the hospital following the incident at the Kane Co. Fairgrounds Saturday.

ST. CHARLES, IL — An indoor food truck festival at the Kane County fairgrounds was shut down Saturday after fire crews found elevated levels of carbon monoxide in a building. St. Charles Fire Chief Joe Schelstreet said one person was taken to the hospital and 37 more or evaluated at the scene but did not require further medical attention, according to the Daily Herald.
Fire crews were first called to the scene at 2:06 p.m. on an unrelated calls. While there, fire officials decided to take carbon monoxide readings after spotting
Event organizers decided to close the event for the rest of the day after learning of the elevated carbon monoxide levels, the Daily Herald reports.

Attendees have been sharing their experience on the event’s Facebook page. One man said he and his wife, who is pregnant with twins, left at about 11 a.m. after she became dizzy and had a bad headache. Another woman, who had a 4-year-old child with, went to the emergency room.
