Entries Being Accepted for 2015 Scarecrow Fest

New this year is the Mega Scarecrow category.

The Greater St. Charles Convention and Visitors Bureau is now accepting entries for the 30th Annual Scarecrow Fest Contest, which will be held Oct. 9 through 11 in downtown St. Charles.

To enter the Scarecrow Contest, participants should visit the SCCVB website (www.scarecrowfest.com); there will be a link provided for a downloadable version of the entry form. The document will also include more information on the five scarecrow categories, as well as a detailed look at the official contest rules and regulations.

A new category has been added this year. The Mega Scarecrow category will allow twelve entrants to make a statement with an over-sized display. Electricity and moving parts will not be allowed in this latest division. Prizes of $500, $300, and $200 will be awarded to three winners.

Other categories for this year’s fest include: the mechanical category, clubs/Not-for-profit/Individual category, family category, and greater St. Charles business category. Prizes for the winning scarecrows of each category will range from $75 to $600.
