Fatal Plane Crash Survivor To Speak At Local Church

In 2005, sixteen year old Kechi Okwuchi was one of two to survive the plane crash in Nigeria. She also performed on America's Got Talent.

From Christ Community Church: Christ Community Church invites you to hear the story of Kechi Okwuchi, survivor of a fatal plane crash and a finalist on last season’s America’s Got Talent.

In 2005, sixteen-year-old Kechi Okwuchi was one of two survivors of the crash of Sosoliso Airlines Flight 1145 in Nigeria. Suffering burns on over 65 percent of her body, she underwent over 100 surgeries. Through it all, she found hope in her love of music. In fact, she was shocked to find her singing voice dramatically improved and her love for singing blossomed.

Last year, Kechi appeared on NBC’s America’s Got Talent after a friend signed her up for an audition. She captivated the show’s judges, including Spice Girl Mel B who said, "You are a survivor, you are an inspiration." She became an overnight sensation and advanced to the finals.
