Of the four steps – Activate, Receive, Grow, and Share – partnering with an assigned mentor is part of step two, Receive. The goal of this step is to give the girls access to new experiences and create a connection between the girl, the community and all possible opportunities. The foundation was proud to partner with PDC 30 for their premier event.

“PDC 30 is very pleased to support the Fig Factor Foundation’s important work by hosting their recent event,” states Ryan Anderson, PDC 30’s Business Manager and Secretary Treasurer. “We are committed to working with community organizations because organizations like the Fig Factor Foundation and many others are drivers of social change and progress within our community.”

“It was incredibly magical,” says Jacqueline Camacho-Ruiz, founder of the Fig Factor Foundation. “To see the excitement and passion in the young Latinas and the mentors was gratifying. These ladies are the leaders of tomorrow and their possibilities are endless.”

The foundation looks forward to many more such events and partnering with both PDC 30 and other community organizations to further their goals. The Fig Factor Foundation’s official launch celebration will take place on January 21, 2016. Discover more about the foundation at www.thefigfactor.org.

About the Fig Factor Foundation

The Fig Factor Foundation’s mission is to become a powerful catalyst for Latinas aged 15 – 25 to pursue their dreams by providing educational leadership platforms, mentorship and powerful experiences through a context of sisterhood. It was founded in September 2014, after six months of hard work to assemble the team, the program, build infrastructure and raise initial funding. Their positive impact was immediately felt at smaller local events and provided the impetus to grow. The foundation’s goal is to implement the program nationwide before expanding globally.
