Finalists Selected For Open District 303 Seat

A new school board member will be selected later this month.

ST. CHARLES, IL - From School District 303: Fourteen people applied to fill the vacancy on the District 303 School Board after the resignation of Jim Gaffney, Jr. on June 3, 2018.

The community members who sent letters of intent to the School Board are:

Ryan Bongard, of St. Charles, the Vice President of Operations for Owner Connect in Hoffman Estates.

Michael Bryant, St. Charles, a Business Education Teacher at Batavia High School.

Kellie Capps, St. Charles, a consultant at Higher Education Consulting and president of the St. Charles Education Foundation Board.

Nick Dzierzanowski, West Chicago, served as West Chicago Alderman, and currently works as a Chief Engineer for a hotel.

John Garcia, St. Charles, Professor of Philosophy at Harper College.

Leon Kolodziej, St. Charles, Independent Financial Advisor with Forum Financial Management, LP in Lombard.

Lara Kristofer, St. Charles, mother of 3 current and 1 future District 303 students, Vice President of the Lincoln Elementary School PTO.

Tim Mauntel, St. Charles, retired from the medical sales field.

Jennifer McClure, South Elgin, Managing Director of Enrollment Services at Elgin Community College.

Tom Mullally, of Elburn, owner of Barco Stamping, a metal fabrication business with locations in Illinois and Arizona and president of the District 303 Athletic Boosters.

Scott Nowling, of St. Charles, is an Executive District Manager for Johnson & Johnson and served on the District 303 School Board from 2007-2011.

John Rothecker, of St. Charles, a retired police officer with 32 years in law enforcement.

Alexandra Teipel, St. Charles, a senior data analyst/geologist at St. John-Mittelhauser in Downers Grove.

Robert Ulaszek, St. Charles, a Senior Manager at Tahoe Partners, LLC.

At a special school board meeting on July 5, School Board members decided to interview the following candidates during a second special School Board meeting on July 14 beginning at 8:00 a.m. in the Board Room located at the Administration Center, 201 S. 7th Street, St. Charles.

School Board President Kathy Hewell said, “We are fortunate to have so many qualified community members who took the time to express an interest in serving on the School Board. The candidates being brought forward for interviews were chosen for a variety of reasons including service to the community, involvement in District 303, and work experience.”

A new school board member must be appointed no later than July 18.
