Following Tuesday Outage, Service Restored to City of St. Charles Phone System

The city of St. Charles could not receive incoming calls at its police and fire departments or at city offices Tuesday night.

St. Charles residents will again by able to reach the city’s main phone number following a temporary system outage Tuesday. 

The city of St. Charles alerted residents Tuesday night that the city could not receive any incoming calls to the fire department, police department or city offices, according to a city of St. Charles press release.

As of Wednesday morning, all inbound calls to the city are being temporarily routed through the city’s telephone number, 630-377-4400, while the city’s telephone carrier performs repairs, according to a city of St. Charles press release.

Callers could experience increased hold times or be directed to voicemail Wednesday. An update is expected once full service has been restored.
