Food Donations To Clear Library Fines

St. Charles Public Library patrons can wipe out any fines through Nov. 17 by dropping off non-perishable food items.

ST. CHARLES, IL — Do you have St. Charles Public Library fines that have not been paid? No problem.

The library is offering an amnesty program, which started on Nov. 9 and continues through Nov. 17, to help wipe out those fines out. No matter how old or high the fines might be, according to information posted on the library's website. All you need to do is bring some non-perishable food items and drop off at the library. The food will be donated to the Salvation Army's food pantry.

"There are no guidelines for how much food should be contributed for specific fine amounts. Let your conscience be your guide," according to the library's website.
