Midwest Living magazine has listed the Fox River Valley among its top 25 weekend getaway locations near Chicago.

“An hour west of Chicago’s Loop, the Fox River provides a soothing backdrop to towns brimming with indulgent eats, stores housed in historical homes and posh places to stay,” Midwest Living writes.
The magazine mentions St. Charles, Geneva and Oswego as destinations worth checking out. Midwest Living gave a nod to the Arcada in St. Charles, the Geneva shopping district, and a family-run winery just minutes from Oswego’s Main Street.
