Fox Valley Philharmonic Benefit Concert on the Fox River

Popular Philharmonic Orchestra River-Cruise Fundraiser to Encore this September

Back by popular demand, the Fox Valley Philharmonic Orchestra will sponsor another riverboat concert this September 13th at 4:00 p.m. embarking on the “Fox River Queen” from Pottawatomie Park in St. Charles. As before, the concert-cruise is in the spirit of King George’s 1717 party down the Thames River and will consist of a one-hour grand paddlewheel boat tour on the Fox River. The river-cruise concert comes complete with Handel’s “Water Music” and other Baroque musical ambience this time provided by the Philharmonic Brass Quintet and complementary light refreshments.

The benefit concert supports the Fox Valley Academy of Music Performance, a non-profit organization providing orchestra concerts throughout the Fox Valley and youth orchestra training for area student-musicians.

River-cruise benefit tickets are $25 per person. Advance purchase determines boarding sequence and premiere seating (100-person boat capacity). For reservations, or more information about other Philharmonic events, visit the Fox Valley Academy of Music Performance website (www.fvacademy.org) and click on “Events,” or call (630) 476-9072.
