Free Christmas Tree Pickup Starts Next Week In St. Charles

ST. CHARLES, IL —The city of St. Charles is offering residents free Christmas tree collection starting in the New Year.

No sticker is required to have the trees picked up during the weeks of January 2 and January 9, and trees will be picked up on both sides of the river on the regularly scheduled refuse day, according to a news release from the city of St. Charles.

After the two-week period, a sticker will be required to pick up the tree, according to the news release. Residents should not place trees in disposal bags, and all decorations, including tinsel, must be removed.

Also, residents should be aware that refuse collection will be delayed by one day on Christmas week and one day the week of New Year. For more information, visit www.stcharlesil.gov or call the public works department at 630-337-4405.
