Halloween High Tea, Vintage Circus Dinner Coming To St. Charles

The Graceful Ordinary will celebrate this spooky season with two events featuring themed food, costumes, live entertainment and more.

ST. CHARLES, IL — A St. Charles riverfront restaurant is getting into the Halloween spirit this month with a spooky high tea and a vintage circus-themed dinner featuring live entertainment, themed food and drinks.

The Graceful Ordinary, 3 E. Main St., will host two Halloween events in October, including its third annual Halloween Dinner on Oct. 31.

First up is a Halloween High Tea at noon Saturday, Oct. 24. The afternoon will feature live jazz along with Halloween-inspired canapés and sweets created by Chef Chris Curren and Pastry Chef Martina Preradovic. Premium teas from The Irie Cup will also be served.

Guests are encouraged to dress for Halloween, with a $100 Graceful Ordinary gift card going to the winner of a costume contest.

Tickets cost $35 for adults and $20 for children ages 3 to 12. Children ages 2 and younger can attend for free, and gratuity is included in the ticket price.

The restaurant will then undergo a vintage circus-inspired transformation for The Big Top Halloween Dinner on Saturday, Oct. 31.

The Graceful Ordinary's third annual Halloween Dinner will feature a four-course, circus-themed meal, a photo booth and live entertainment from local artists, according to a news release. The festivities begin at 6 p.m. with dinner before shifting into the Late Night Circus from 9 p.m. to midnight.

The late-night portion of the celebration will include an open bar along with carnival-inspired snacks and sweets. Dinner tickets start at $121 per person, while tickets for the Late Night Circus start at $60.50.

Ten percent of proceeds from dinner ticket sales will benefit Lazarus House, a St. Charles-based nonprofit that provides shelter, food and other services to people experiencing homelessness or other hardships.

The Graceful Ordinary is owned by husband-and-wife team Chris and Megan Curren.
