Literacy Volunteers Fox Valley is hosting a free tutor training workshop for residents who want to help adults learn English. The four-session workshop will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays, September 14, 16, 21, and 23 at Pottawatomie Community Center in St. Charles.
Literacy Volunteers Fox Valley helps adults communicate in English by matching them with trained volunteer tutors who provide lessons once each week. Volunteers also help their adult learners adapt to life in our community so they can understand how to live successfully in the United States.
If you know English, you can teach English to an adult who is waiting to learn. The program provides material and instruction so that anyone can be a volunteer tutor. If you have an hour each week, we can fit tutoring into your schedule.
