I hear it all the time.

Things I can do to help:

  1. It is the photographer’s job to pose you so that you look amazing.
  2. Your photographer should help you choose clothes that will flatter you.
  3. A professional hair and makeup artist will help you look your best.
  4. Lighting! How a photographer lights you is so important.
  5. The angle you are photographed from makes a huge difference.

Things you can do without a professional photographer:

  1. Natural color lipstick is most flattering.
  2. Powder your nose.
  3. Practice at home in front of the mirror. Seriously.
  4. Study your selfies. What works and what doesn’t?
  5. Pull up and stand tall.
