Illinois' First Wahlburgers Could Open In St. Charles

St. Charles, which is where Donny Wahlberg and Jenny McCarthy bought a house two years ago, could soon get a Wahlburgers.

ST. CHARLES, IL -- St. Charles resident Donnie Wahlberg said he has wanted to open a Wahlburgers restaurant in town since he set foot in the city. Now, that dream is one step closer to becoming a reality after the St. Charles Plan Commission approved a preliminary plan for the project, which is proposed for the southwest corner of Randall Road and Route 38, the Kane County Chronicle reports. Now the city council must approve the final development plan and, if that happens, construction on the restaurant could begin this summer.

The Wahlbergs originally considered bringing their first Illinois Wahlburgers to Chicago, but ultimately decided on St. Charles, which is where Wahlberg and his wife, Jenny McCarthy, bought a house two years ago, according to the article. The St. Charles restaurant will be the first Wahlburgers built from the ground up as other locations move into existing buildings.
