Kane Co. Electronics Recycling Event Held This Weekend
The electronics recycling event will be held this weekend.

The next Kane County Recycles event will be held on Saturday, May 13 between 8 a.m. and noon at 540 S. Randall Road in St. Charles. At this weekend’s event, you can recycle books of any age and condition and electronics, like computers, keyboards, laptops, printers, stereos, cell phones, microwaves and more at no cost. You can also drop off televisions and computer monitors for a cost of $25 for screens under 21 inches (measured diagonally) and $35 for screens 21 inches and over, according to a news release.
Cash and credit cards are accepted at the event. Those working at the event will unload your electronics for you, according to the news release.
The fee that you pay for TVs and monitors goes directly to the county’s contracted electronics recycler, eWorks, a non-profit whose main mission is to employ developmentally disabled individuals. You will receive a tax-deduction receipt for your drop-off, according to the news release.
