Kane Co. Forest Preserve Plans Fall Hikes

The hikes will be led by a forest preserve District naturalist, who will interpret the ecology of the preserve along the way.

KANE COUNTY, IL — The Kane County Forest Preserve District is planning to host two-hour guided hikes at various forest preserve sites this fall.

The hikes will be led by a forest preserve District naturalist, who will interpret the ecology of the preserve along the way, but the main goal is to cover ground, according to a news release. The hikes will be held at:

  • Elburn Forest Preserve, 45W061 Rte. 38, Elburn, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Sept. 15.
  • Voyageur's Landing Forest Preserve, 50 Airport Road, Elgin, from 4 to 6 p.m. on Oct. 20.
  • Aurora West Forest Preserve, 40W032 Hankes Road, Aurora, from 9 to 11 a.m. on Nov. 5.

The free programs are for ages 18 years old and older and advance registration is required by calling 630-444-3190 or e-mailing programs@kaneforest.com.
