Kane Co. Sgt. Charged With Cocaine Possession

The Sheriff's Office sergeant was arrested following an investigation by the Illinois Attorney General North Central Narcotics Task Force.

KANE COUNTY, IL — A 15-year veteran of the Kane County Sheriff's Office has been arrested on a drug charge. Kane County Sheriff's Office Sgt. Aaron Feiza, 44, was taken into custody Wednesday and charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance, a class 4 felony, according to a statement from the Kane County State's Attorney's Office.

According to an indictment filed in the case, Feiza is charged with unlawfully possessing cocaine on Feb. 10. His bail has been set at $10,000.

Sheriff Ron Hain said that when his office became aware of the allegation, Feiza was placed on paid administrative leave "pending the outcome of the investigation." He remained on paid administrative leave as of Thursday, according to Hain.

"The community expects, as I expect, that law-enforcement officers will obey the law," Hain said in the statement. "If police fail to meet that expectation, we are obligated to respond accordingly to maintain the public's trust.”

Feiza's initial court appearance has been set for Dec. 20 at the Kane County Judicial Center.

The Illinois Attorney General's Office and the North Central Narcotics Task Force investigated the case, which remains under investigation, according to the state's attorney's office.
