Kane County Coroner IDs Man Hit by Metra Train

ELGIN, IL - The Kane County Coroner’s Office has identified a man struck and killed by a Metra train last week in Elgin as Devon Colwell.

The 23-year-old Elgin man was found on the train tracks near the intersection of Kimball Street and Route 31 at about 1:35 p.m. on Jan. 14, according to a Kane County Coroner’s Office press release. Toxicology samples were collected and sent to a forensic lab.

The Kane County Coroner’s Office is working with the Metra Police Department and Elgin Fire Department in their ongoing investigation of the incident.
