Kane County Could Soon Get First Drive-Through Liquor Store

Lundeen's at 1315 Main Street in St. Charles is looking at adding a drive-through.

ST. CHARLES, IL - Dave and Julie Lundeen are one step closer to bringing a drive-through liquor store to St. Charles.

St. Charles aldermen in a 4-3 vote on Monday did away with a rule that requires all drive-through facilities be on at least one acre of land, which was a necessary step for the Lundeen’s as they forward with a plan to add a drive-through window at their store at 1315 West Main Street, according to the Daily Herald. The liquor store is located on less than a half-acre of land.

Last year, the city council lifted a ban on drive-through liquor stores in town.

The full city council must still give its stamp of approval on the drive-through, according to the Daily Herald. If approved, the St. Charles drive-through liquor store would be the first of its kind in Kane County.
