Local Alums Mark Milestones in College Soccer
Eclipse Select Soccer Club reports progress in college careers of St. Charles, Geneva alums.

Eclipse Select Soccer Club reports that St. Charles North grad Taylor Vancil of South Elgin logged 45 shutout minutes as Florida State University routed Mississippi Valley State, 6-0, on Friday in the first round of the NCAA Tournament in Tallahassee, Fla. Vancil and Kelsey Wys split time in the net to record the Seminoles program's record 15th shutout of the season.
Notre Dame sophomore defender and Geneva High grad Sammy Scofield of Geneva played 77 minutes during the Irish's first-round victory against Wisconsin-Milwaukee last Friday in South Bend, Ind. St. Charles North grad and Milwaukee senior goalkeeper Jamie Forbes of St. Charles made six saves, but it was not enough against a Notre Dame side that next faces Wake Forest on Friday.
Postseason honors:
Illinois Wesleyan junior midfielder Hannah Ketterling of St. Charles, , a St. Charles East alum, recently was named to the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin First Team. Ketterling had three goals during league play and has four goals and six assists overall.

The Eclipse Select Soccer Club was formed in 1997 to facilitate elite-level youth soccer players and has evolved into a program consisting of more than 60 teams throughout the Chicago area. The club offers programs for boys and girls soccer players of all levels and ages, from preschool children to collegiate-level and national-team athletes. Eclipse Select's office is located at 700 Oak Brook Road, Suite A, in Oak Brook, Ill.
