Local author to discuss connection between music and memory

Margaret Philbrick to present "A Minor—A Novel of Love, Music and Memory" at The Holmstad Retirement Community on April 14

Explore the connection between music and memory with Wheaton author Margaret Philbrick when she presents her novel “A Minor – A Novel of Love, Music and Memory” (Koeler Books, 2014) on Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at 1 p.m. at The Holmstad, a not-for-profit, faith-based continuing care retirement community operated by Covenant Retirement Communities.

Philbrick will use her book to segue into a discussion about God’s gift of music and its impact on memory, Alzheimer’s and other dementias. The presentation will address the latest research on music and memory; provide a memory building diet; and focus on the life-giving message of her novel. Musical selections from her book will be performed by one of the community’s residents.

The presentation is free, but space is limited. To register, please visit www.TheHolmstad.org or call 877-226-7310. The Holmstad is located at 700 W. Fabyan Parkway, Batavia, Ill.
