Lou Malnati’s Coming To St. Charles This Fall, Hiring 100 Workers

Chicago-style pizza chain is now accepting applications for servers, cooks, bartenders and other positions ahead of opening.

ST. CHARLES, IL — Lou Malnati’s Pizzeria is coming to St. Charles this fall, bringing its 71st location and about 100 new jobs to the city.

The Chicago-style pizza chain is opening a 6,200-square-foot restaurant at 3050 E. Main St. and is now hiring for all positions, including bartenders, servers, cooks and phone staff. Applicants of all experience levels are encouraged to apply, according to Lou Malnati’s.

Because the restaurant is still under construction, Lou Malnati’s will hold walk-in interviews at the Courtyard by Marriott St. Charles, 700 Courtyard Drive. Hiring managers will be available from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, Sept. 14 through Oct. 2. Signs at the hotel will direct applicants to the banquet room where interviews will take place.

“Lou Malnati’s is growing and expanding in the Chicagoland area, and St. Charles is the next exciting step,” CEO Julie Younglove-Webb said in a statement.

The restaurant will offer the chain’s signature Chicago-style deep-dish pizza, made with Lou Malnati’s signature crust, Wisconsin mozzarella and vine-ripened tomatoes, according to Katie Maldonado, public relations manager for Lou Malnati’s.

The St. Charles restaurant also will be the first Lou Malnati’s location to incorporate elements of the company’s brand refresh. The restaurant will feature an updated logo, refreshed menu design and a new interior aesthetic.

Lou Malnati’s also worked with the St. Charles History Museum to incorporate historic photographs celebrating the community’s heritage into the restaurant’s design. The space will include family photos, pizza-pan décor and hidden Lou’s references incorporated into artwork, Maldonado said.

The restaurant will feature a full-service dining room and bar, private dining room, carryout, delivery and catering. Its menu will include deep-dish pizza, along with thin-crust and gluten-free options, appetizers, salads, pastas and desserts.

The restaurant is expected to open in late October, though Lou Malnati’s has not announced an official opening date. The company said it plans to provide more details in the coming weeks.

The restaurant is offering paid training, free employee meals and other workplace benefits. Lou Malnati’s also said it has been named a Chicago Tribune Top 100 Place to Work for 16 consecutive years and a National Top Workplace for six years.

Lou Malnati’s opened its first restaurant in Lincolnwood in 1971 and has since expanded to more than 60 locations throughout the Chicago area.
