Lou Malnati’s St. Charles Opening Targeted For Late October

The 71st location of the Chicago pizza chain will be the first to feature elements of its new brand refresh, company officials said.

ST. CHARLES, IL — St. Charles residents will have to wait a little longer for Lou Malnati’s Pizzeria to open its doors, but the Chicago-style pizza chain is targeting a late October opening for its new restaurant.

Lou Malnati’s has not announced an official opening date for the 6,200-square-foot restaurant at 3050 E. Main St., according to Katie Maldonado, public relations manager for the company. Maldonado said the restaurant is targeting a late October opening and expects to announce additional details in the near future.

The St. Charles restaurant will be the company’s 71st location and will employ about 100 people. The restaurant is currently under construction, while hiring is underway for bartenders, servers, cooks, phone staff and other positions.

When it opens, the restaurant will offer the Lou Malnati’s experience, including its signature deep-dish pizza made with its signature crust, Wisconsin mozzarella and vine-ripened tomatoes.

The St. Charles location also will have something customers won’t find at other Lou Malnati’s restaurants: It will be the first location to showcase elements of the company’s brand refresh, Maldonado told Patch this past week.

The updated look includes a new logo, refreshed menu design and a new interior aesthetic. Lou Malnati’s said the changes are intended to create a welcoming space for casual dinners, family gatherings and celebrations.

The company also worked with the St. Charles History Museum to incorporate historic photographs highlighting the community’s heritage into the restaurant, Maldonado said. Artwork will include hidden Lou Malnati’s references, along with family photographs, pizza-pan décor and other nods to the company’s history and the Malnati family.

The restaurant will include a full-service dining room and bar, private dining room, carryout, delivery and catering.

Lou Malnati’s opened its first restaurant in Lincolnwood in 1971 and now has more than 60 locations throughout the Chicago area.

The company is holding walk-in interviews for prospective employees from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday through Oct. 2 at the Courtyard by Marriott St. Charles, 700 Courtyard Drive. Applicants can apply online at careers.loumalnatis.com.
