Main Street Among Street Closures for the St. Charles Memorial Day Parade, May 29

The St. Charles Memorial Day Parade is May 29 at 10 a.m. The parade begins at 6th St. & W. Main St. and travels east to Riverside Ave.

The 2017 Memorial Day Parade will be held Monday May 29, 2017 at 10 a.m. The Parade begins at 6th and W. Main Street. It then travels east to Riverside Avenue where it turns left (north) and will continue to the Freedom Walk north of the Police Department where a formal ceremony will be held.

Main Street will be closed from 7th Street to 5th Avenue (Illinois Rt. 25) during the parade. Parking on the Main Street Bridge will be prohibited from 7 a.m. – 11 a.m. Vehicles parked on the bridge during those times will be ticketed and towed. Parking will also be prohibited on State Avenue between Riverside Avenue and N. 4th Avenue to accommodate parade vehicles exiting the parade route.

Traffic assistance will be provided by Police and Emergency Management personnel stationed along the parade route. Motorists needing to cross the Fox River are encouraged to use either the Illinois Street Bridge or the Red Gate Bridge.

A number of streets will be closed to allow for the staging of parade units beginning at 8:00 AM:

  • Walnut Street from S. 4th Street to S. 7th Street
  • S. 4th Street from Main Street to Illinois Street
  • S. 5th Street from Main Street to Illinois Street
  • S. 6th Street from Main Street to Illinois Street
