Lou Malnati's Plans To Open New Pizzeria In St. Charles

The restaurant is expected to open this fall in an out lout at the Fox Haven Square complex.

ST. CHARLES, IL — A new Lou Malnati's Pizzeria location is planned for St. Charles as part of a major new dining and entertainment development on the city’s east side.

The restaurant is expected to open this fall in an out lout at the Fox Haven Square complex near the northeast coroner of Kirk Road and East Main Street, according to the Aurora Beacon-News. The proposed development will house restaurants and a pickleball facility.

The popular Chicago deep-dish chain has signed a lease for a 6,200-square-foot, full-service restaurant and bar at 3050 E. Main Street and will occupy the space formerly held by the now-shuttered On The Border Mexican Grill & Cantina, the Daily Herald is reporting.

Lou Malnati's CEO Julie Younglove-Webb said residents in St. Charles have been asking the restaurant chain to come to town for years, according to the Daily Herald. In the statement, she added the city's growth and development of its east side made the right time for the chain to set up shop there.

The $22 million, 7.5-acre Fox Haven Square development in St. Charles is expected to open this spring, bringing about 70,000 square feet of commercial space, a community plaza and a two-story pickleball facility with rooftop courts.

Confirmed businesses signed on so far include Fire + Wine, Rosebud Steakhouse and Swank Coffee & Wine Lounge, with additional restaurants and entertainment venues expected to join the development, according to Shaw Local.

If the city signs off on approvals for the pizzeria, the Lou Malnati's in St. Charles will be the business's 61st location in the Chicago area.
