Man Uses Gun to Force His Way Into St. Charles Apartment: Police

Police are looking for a suspect in the home invasion.

ST. CHARLES, IL - St. Charles police are looking for a man who is accused of using a gun to force his way into an apartment Tuesday night.

The victim in the attack told police he heard someone knocking on the door of his second floor patio at about 10:14 p.m. on Tuesday, according to a St. Charles Police Department press release. He went to move the drapes and found a black man outside holding a black handgun.

The offender ordered he be allowed into the apartment where he proceeded to search different areas and demanded property from the victim, according to the news release.

He then left the apartment and was last seen leaving the area in a dark-colored small four-door import-type vehicle in poor condition. He is described as a black male, about 5’8” and weighing 180 pounds and was wearing a red warm-up-type jacket and baggy jeans.
