Marquee Youth Stage Presents Beauty and the Beast Jr

Marquee Youth Stage invites you to be our guest as we offer two weekends of performances of Beauty and the Beast Jr. This theatrical experience for the entire family features Belle as she dreams of living more than her provincial life, leaves her village, meets the Beast and experiences all his enchanted castle has to offer and learns to see more than just the intimidating Beast that she first meets.

Once upon a time in a faraway land, an Enchantress turns a cruel, unfeeling prince into a hideous Beast.  To break the spell, the Beast must learn to love another and earn her love in return before the last petal falls from an enchanted rose.  Ten years later, in a small village far below the Beast’s castle, a beautiful and intelligent young woman, Belle, yearns for something more than her provincial life.

Beauty and the Beast is a traditional fairy tale that was first published in French in the mid18th century.  Since then, this story about a captive girl and the beast who becomes her friend has been adapted and translated into hundreds of versions worldwide.  Based on the books, Walt Disney created the beloved movie Beauty and the Beast, which featured songs such as “Be Our Guest”, “Something There”, “Human Again” and “Beauty and the Beast”.
