Mental Health Board to Review Funding Requests From St. Charles Non-Profits

Applications for funding will be accepted through March 9.

ST. CHARLES, IL — The St. Charles 708 Community Mental Health Board will consider funding requests for the 2026-2027 fiscal year during its annual meeting on April 15 at 5:30 p.m. at Council Chambers, 2 E. Main Street.

Applications for funding will be accepted through March 9, with guidelines and application forms available on the City of St. Charles website.

In the previous fiscal year, the City Council approved the distribution of $679,000 to 20 local not-for-profit agencies, which serve St. Charles residents with services related to mental health disorders, developmental disabilities and substance abuse, according to a news release from the city of St. Charles.

Since 1986, the city has levied a tax dedicated to funding mental health services for its residents, with a historical rate of approximately $0.04 per $100 of EAV. The Community 708 Mental Health Board plays a key role in reviewing funding requests from local agencies and recommending how the collected funds should be distributed, according to the news release from the city of St. Charles.
