Mooseheart Bald Eagle Dies After Being Hit By Car
"It's sad. People are really upset about it," one St. Charles resident told the Daily Herald.

KANE COUNTY, IL — A bald eagle that nests near the Mooseheart football field was struck and killed by a vehicle this past week. The adult eagle, which had nested in a dead pine tree with another adult eagle and some eaglets, was hit by the car while apparently eating road kill on Orchard Road between 6:30 and 7 a.m. on Wednesday, according to media reports. There have been conflicting reports on whether the male or female eagle that lived in the nest was killed, but many on social media are speculating that it was the female.
The other adult eagle was spotted feeding the eaglets in the nest following the death of his or her partner, according to the Daily Herald.
"It's sad. People are really upset about it," David Soderstrom, a St. Charles resident and photographer who has taken picture of the birds, told the Daily Herald."They're kind of like local celebrities. They've been there seven years. A lot of people have been watching them for years."
