More Coverage: North Stars Win Homecoming Game Against Streamwood, 56-42
North Stars Coach Mark Gould acknowledges need to "shore up" defense.
An opening play touchdown by Streamwood launched an offensive battle with the North Stars Friday night.
While the North Stars would emerge the winner, both schools' defenses gave up a combined 100 points in the 56-42 victory for the St. Charles team. It also made for a win on homecoming night for the North Stars.
Coach Mark Gould said after the game that it was a good win but the team "just can't keep doing this."

"We've just got to find something to shore it up a bit," added Gould, who identified the tackling and assignments as key areas on which to focus.
The Upstate Eight conference win brings the North Stars record to 2-2.

An 87-yard touchdown run by Sabres running back Alex Morrow in the first play of the game touched off the offensive bombardment by both teams. The North Stars answered with two TDs later in the first quarter.
Four North Star touchdowns in third quarter—including a 63-yard TD run by Jake Bergren—helped solidify the victory.
Bergren, who normally fills the quarterback slot, returned to the field Friday night for the first time this season after getting injured earlier this year.
"He (Bergren)'s explosive, so he certainly helps," Gould said after the game.
The North Stars will face fellow Upstate Conference competitor and neighbor, the Geneva Vikings, on Sept. 24.
