National Handwriting Day is on Jan 23!

Rather than focusing on perfecting the complicated curls of cursive, children are being taught how to type. Instead of letting the art die

There’s just something about the art of handwriting. Being able to express our very thoughts and dreams through the written word is something that’s always been appealing to men, women, and children of all ages. But, what was once taught to young children in school is quickly becoming a dying art. Rather than focusing on perfecting the complicated curls of cursive, children are being taught how to type. Instead of letting the art die out, it’s time we bring it back!

Established in the year 1977, the art of handwriting is celebrated once per year on National Handwriting Day on January 23rd in conjecture with John Hancock’s birthday, the original signer of the Declaration of Independence. However, you can celebrate it yourself every day of the year with a handwritten note, a personal journal, or a postcard! To make your remembrance of the day classier, we have put together a guide containing top selections of gorgeous pens and accessories. Time to write a little romantic something for your spouse or even just a grocery list!

1. Pen: Just like the pens used in the Renaissance Age, this stylish and innovative pen from Hammacher Schlemmer is completely inkless! We found The Leonardo Da Vinci Inkless Pen to be an interesting pick. It uses a unique method coined by Leonardo himself that involves scratching a silver stylus pen over a treated paper. Very little of the pen wears off while you use it, making this inkless pen perfect for all sorts of writing tasks, from journaling to writing notes and more.
