New Children's Book supports local foundation
Local St Charles Mom develops Ben's Adventures to show all kids can play and dream.

Ben's Adventures is about a young triplet brother with cerebral palsy who uses a wheelchair. Despite any physical or medical challenges, he loves to go on adventures. The book was developed by St Charles mom Elizabeth Gerlach as a tribute to her son Benjamin, who passed away in May 2016. Ben's Adventures is releasing next month in New York City at BookExpo America, the industry's largest book trade fair in the U.S.
The primary message of the book is that kids are kids first, and despite any physical or medical challenges, all children can play and dream. In this first book, Ben and his family take a trip to the beach. Ben's Adventures is available in both hard cover and paperback, and can be pre-ordered online at www.Bens-Adventures.com.
A portion of book sales will support Gerlach's foundation, the Ben Smiles Memorial Foundation, dedicated to giving switch-adapted toys, switches and other devices to kids with motor challenges. So far, Ben Smiles has supported Easter Seals, Chapelstreet Church in Geneva, D303 Early Childhood, CDH PICU and Ronald McDonald House, and has gifted toys to 16 children.
