New Executive Director Joins Greater St. Charles Convention and Visitors Bureau

Greater St. Charles Convention and Visitors Bureau (SCCVB) (www.visitstcharles.com) is pleased to welcome Lula S. Cassidy as the new Executive Director. As the former President and CEO of InnTerActive Marketing, a hospitality and tourism outsourcing consulting firm, Cassidy advised hospitality and tourism brands, hotels, events and venue owners on revenue improvement plans to drive more top line revenues to their businesses. Cassidy is also known in the hospitality industry as a keynote conference speaker, having spoken for hotel brand conferences like LaQuinta Inns and Suites and Best Western events.

Lynn Caldwell, SCCVB board President says, “we are so excited to welcome Lula S. Cassidy to the Greater St. Charles CVB as the new Executive Director. She brings a robust combination of hospitality and marketing experience to the table. As an Illinois native, Lula understands who we are and that Greater St. Charles is a destination for both leisure and meetings visitors. Her expertise and enthusiasm will be an incredible asset to the Bureau as it supports St. Charles hotels and other tourism related businesses in the service area.”

Cassidy’s first day will be Monday, June 6, 2016. In her first week she will host Cory Jobe, Director of the Illinois Office of Tourism, and escort him on a tour of the Bureau’s service area highlighting the many attractions.

Enthusiastic about immersing herself in the Greater St. Charles tourism industry, Cassidy is looking forward to bringing the knowledge she has gained throughout her hospitality and tourism career, back “home” to the Midwest. Cassidy states “There is only one America’s Heartland. I look forward to working with the CVB team to drive the message to the masses that the pulse of destination for that Heartland is St. Charles, IL.

Cassidy plans to introduce a strong message and marketing plan to capture increased tourism for St. Charles. A message that has future visitors seeking out and experiencing St. Charles for the remarkable destination that it is.

Cassidy is a native Midwesterner, having proudly originated from the small town of New Windsor, Illinois before venturing off to Augustana University for her undergraduate work and New York’s prestigious Cornell University for the Leadership Academy and her Master’s degree. Cassidy will settle in St. Charles as she begins her new role.
