New St. Charles D303 School Board Members Seated
New officers elected as the School Board looks to the summer board retreat for productive discussions.
A new St. Charles D303 School Board was seated at a Special Board Meeting on Monday, April 29th. Outgoing board members, Mrs. Kathy Hewell, Mrs. Lori Linkimer, and Mr. Scott Nowling, were recognized for their many years of service on the board by Mrs. Heidi Fairgrieve, Mr. Nick Manheim, Mr. Ed McNally, Ms. Carolyn Waibel and by Dr. Pearson who represented administration, teachers, and support staff. Once all outgoing board members were excused from the board table, new board members, Mrs. Jillian Barker, Mr. Mike Bryant, and Mrs. Becky McCabe were asked to join the four board members to recite the Oath of Office all together. The first order of business for the new board was to nominate and elect of Board President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer. After a brief discussion regarding the duties of the officers, nominations were voiced and votes were cast for each office. The election results were as follows: Ms. Carolyn Waibel, Board President, Mr. Nick Manheim, Board Vice President, Mrs. Jillian Barker, Board Secretary, Dr. Seth Chapman, Board Treasurer. The last action on the agenda was setting the School Board meeting calendar which was approved and will be posted to the district website.
