Norris Cultural Arts Center Opens 'Whimsy Encore' Art Gallery Exhibit

St Charles, Ill., Jan. 6 – The Norris Cultural Arts Center adds a touch of whimsy to the New Year when it opens the “Whimsy Encore” art gallery exhibit on Saturday, January 10. As the name suggests, “Whimsy Encore” presents art and objects of fancy and fantasy. The 97-piece exhibit will be on display at The Norris gallery through February 28.

The exhibit is a sequel to the gallery’s original “Whimsy” show that was a highlight of the 2011-12 Norris gallery season.

The public is invited to view the exhibit during the gallery’s regular hours, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Wednesday through Sunday. Admission is free. Most pieces exhibited in “Whimsy Encore” are available for sale.

A free reception honoring the artists of “Whimsy Encore” is scheduled for Sunday, February 8, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the gallery.

The Norris gallery season will conclude with Watercolor 2015, the popular annual exhibition of traditional and contemporary water-based media on various surfaces. Watercolor 2015 is scheduled for March 7 through April 11, 2015. Cash prizes will be awarded.
