Norris Gallery Issues Call for Entries for Vicinity 2018 Exhibit

Open to artists who live within 50 miles of Norris Cultural Arts Center

St. Charles, July 11 - Artists who live within 50 miles of the Norris Cultural Arts Center are invited to submit one original work in any medium to be judged for inclusion in the annual Vicinity Exhibit, which will be on display from September 15 through November 4.

Following are key dates and details:

  • Artwork drop-off day: Friday, September 7 (10 am – 6 pm) – limit, one work per artist
  • Exhibit Agreement and Artwork Receipt forms will be available in the gallery on drop-off day, Friday, September 7
  • Non-refundable entry fee of $30.00 – payable by cash or check – must accompany work at time of drop off
  • Work will be judged Saturday, September 8 (judges’ bios will be posted on Norris website in August)
  • Artists call in on Sunday, September 9, (10 a.m. to 2 p.m.) to learn whether their work has been accepted for the exhibit
  • Pick-up day for work not accepted in the exhibit: Monday, September 10 (10 am – 6 pm)
  • 2D and 3D work in all media is eligible for submission, provided the work is original in concept and execution, and has not been displayed previously in the Norris gallery (exhibition requirements will be posted on Norris Cultural Arts Center website in August)
  • Public reception for artists is Sunday, September 16 (2 – 4 pm)
  • Pick-up day for exhibited work: Monday, November 5 (10 am – 6 pm)
